What is the “I DO”-Project?The “I DO”-Project aims at connecting students with carefully selected NGOs to enable RSM (I)BA2 students in groups of 2-4 to consult these associations in their business-related activities and support them in achieving their short-term and potentially long-term goals.

What are the NGOs that are being supported?All NGOs are classified as an Algemeen nut beogende instelling (ANBI). These are organizations that are almost entirely committed to the public benefit. All NGOs have projects that focus on third world countries like Zimbabwe, Bangladesh or Guinea. These projects can vary from empowering education to supporting healthcare systems or providing clean water to people in need. The aim of all participating NGOs include encouraging, aiding and supporting communities that are deprived and disadvantaged. All organizations are part of the umbrella organization “Partin”. Above you can find the names of the participating NGOs and a link to their website.

What are exemplary tasks?Each organization faces different and unique challenges. Students can support projects by for instance implementing novel fundraising strategies, evaluating projects that are carried out in underdeveloped nations or advising the NGO on its internal structure.

What can I gain from the "I Do" -Project?"First, students can acquire practical experiences based on previously obtained theoretical knowledge. Moreover, the project allows students to seize more responsibility for real-life cases and ultimately have their idea or strategy implemented in the organization's practices. Furthermore, the participation in the projects enable students to experience personal growth by having an impact beyond their personal realm. In addition, students are able to develop skills such as problem-solving, communication, attaining in-depth vision on societal challenges and improving qualitative and quantitative management skills. Lastly, students get the opportunity to create a long-lasting relationship with the organization that goes beyond the time of the project.

Can I expect any certifications?Yes, your participation will be awarded with a certification and acknowledgment from the university.

Are there certain deadlines I need to meet?Apart from the final report deadline, there are no specific deadlines that need to be met. However, students must report their progress and activities bi-monthly to their coach.

Can I drop out?No, once you are accepted to the program you are expected to engage throughout the time of the project.
