“Hi, I am Diamilatou, I am 19 years old and I was one of the lucky ones to receive a scholarship. When I was very young my father died, and I had to go live with my grandfather who had no means to support me nor received money for his retirement. I still never gave up on my dream of having an education, learning and studying.
This scholarship changed my life. I feel so blessed having the opportunity to receive an education. Being this lucky triggered my motivation even more and I stopped spending too much time with my friends as this distracted me from my main goal of studying. I cannot even express how much this scholarship improved my living conditions and at the same time guarantees me a future I never dared to imagine. This scholarship increases my odds of finding a job, making me more independent and autonomous. My diploma and job will be the first step to me building up a life for myself. I am currently training to be a midwife. With this knowledge, I will save the lives of many women and children.”
