On the 9th of March 2020, the team of Projekt Misside along with the Erasmus Sustainability Hub, organised a Clothing Swap event in order to raise funds for the organisation. The rules of the game were as follow: every participant had to pay an entrance fee of minimum 2€ and had to bring an unlimited number of clothing items or accessories to donate. They were then able to select items from the clothing swap and leave with a new wardrobe!
We had the pleasure of welcoming Aliou Diallo, the co-founder of Projekt Misside in Guinea and Susan Kessels, the project ambassador in the Netherlands who came from Eindhoven to attend the event. They met the team but also all of the participants of the clothing swap, creating an authentic atmosphere. Students were happy to learn about the project and meet them in person, which brought them even closer to the goals and ambitions of the organisation.
Not only did the participants contribute to creating a more sustainable world by swapping second hand clothes instead of purchasing new ones, but they also contributed to the growth of Projekt Misside and raised altogether 310€!
We thoroughly thank Boyang Pan for coming up with the idea of the clothing swap and for organising it. We thank the Erasmus Sustainability Hub with who the collaboration worked brilliantly. They were supportive and very helpful throughout the organisation and the event itself. We also thank all the participants who showed support to our project by attending, donating and creating a friendly atmosphere! Last but not least, we thank Aliou and Susan from the bottom of our hearts for their support and for everything they are doing for Projekt Misside. They are an inspiration to all of us!
